چکیده

The slow dynamics and linearized stability of a two-spike quasi-equilibrium solution to a general class of reaction-diffusion (RD) system with and without sub-diffusion is analyzed. For both the case of regular and sub-diffusion, the method of matched asymptotic expansions is used to derive an ODE characterizing the spike locations in the absence of any O(1) time-scale instabilities of the two-spike quasi-equilibrium profile. These fast instabilities result from unstable eigenvalues of a certain nonlocal eigenvalue problem (NLEP) that is derived by linearizing the RD system around the two-spike quasi-equilibrium solution. For a particular sub-class of the reaction kinetics, it is shown that the discrete spectrum of this NLEP is determined by the roots of some simple transcendental equations. From a rigorous analysis of these transcendental equations, explicit sufficient conditions are given to predict the occurrence of either Hopf bifurcations or competition instabilities of the two-spike quasiequilibrium solution. The theory is illustrated for several specific choices of the reaction kinetics.

Dynamics and stability of spike-type solutions to a one dimensional Gierer-Meinhardt model with sub-diffusion

The dynamics and stability of spike-type patterns to a sub-diffusive Gierer-Meinhardt reaction – diffusion system is studied in a one dimensional spatial domain. A differential algebraic system (DAE) is derived to characterise the dynamics of an n-spike quasi-equilibrium pattern in the presence of subdiffusion. With sub-diffusive effects it is shown that quasi-equilibrium spike patterns exist f...

Global Stabilization of Attitude Dynamics: SDRE-based Control Laws

The State-Dependant Riccati Equation method has been frequently used to design suboptimal controllers applied to nonlinear dynamic systems. Different methods for local stability analysis of SDRE controlled systems of order greater than two such as the attitude dynamics of a general rigid body have been extended in literature; however, it is still difficult to show global stability properties of...

Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Al/NiO Thermite Reaction Using Reactive Force Field (ReaxFF)

In this work, the thermal reaction of aluminum (Al) and nickel oxide (NiO) was investigated by molecular dynamics simulations. Some effective features of reaction such as reaction temperature, the reaction mechanism, and diffusion rate of oxygen into aluminum structure were studied. ReaxFF force field was performed to study the Al/NiO thermite reaction behavior at five different temperatures (5...

Stability Assessment of the Flexible System using Redundancy

In this study, dynamic behavior of a mooring line in a floating system is analyzed by probability approaches. In dynamics, most researches have shown the system model and environments by mathematical expression. We called this process as the forward dynamics. However, there is a limit to define the exact environments because of uncertainty. To consider uncertainty, we introduce the redundancy i...
